The LGBRC will participate in the Los Gatos 61st Annual
Parade on December 2, 2017. This parade
is longest-running children’s parade
in the US. Our participation in it reminds
the Town of Los Gatos that they are the home
of a USA Cycling’s Club of the Year and
the Mike’s Bikes Cat’s Hill Classic on Saturday April 28, 2018.
Assemble: We will meet in
our designated space, the exact address of which is to be determined the week prior to the parade.
Although the parade begins “promptly” at
11:00 AM and we theoretically have to be in
our place by 9:00 AM to hold our place, plan
to arrive about 10:30 am in the parade staging
area with bicycles and selves decorated in
holiday fashion, wearing the current 2017 LGBRC
clothing! We will be awarding 2018 jerseys
for the best holiday decorated bike and helmet; voting will take place by 10:30.
When our turn to walk in the parade arrives we will walk
and/or ride up the street behind our LGBRC
banner. The parade ends on Main Street near
the Toll Gate apartments.
Rain: Although heavy or constant
rain cancels the parade, threat of rain or
intermittent showers does not cancel the parade.
After we finish marching/riding in the parade, LGBRC holiday parade participants
(only) are welcome to enjoy free pizza party. Details to follow.
