I have been bike racing for 2 years. I am a cat 2 on the road and on the track. I first discovered that bike racing exists in the Bay Area when I brought my grandpa's old road bike to a high-end shop and a man told me I should race bikes. It was as simple as that, but the idea sparked my interest; soon after, I bought a bike of my own and started racing criteriums. My tactics were lacking, (riding at the front does not mean you are "winning") but I was sold on the sport and I have been competing on the road and track since then.

What I appreciate most about racing is that it is incredibly involved. Avoiding crashes and racing tactically is no easy feat - let alone at 200bpm. My favorite road event is the Vacaville Grand Prix and my favorite track race is the miss 'n' out. When I'm not racing or riding, I study at UC Santa Cruz, where I am a second year student of human biology. I also rock-climb and eat burritos.
