Rob is a Masters LGBRC member, specializing in
Road Racing. He joined in 2007.
When asked how he got involved in cycling,
he replies, "I initially became involved
out of necessity at a young age, I had no car
and wanted to go places! But
soon I realized what a great way of transportation
it
could be, and how it directly could help preserve
the
environment. After too many years on the east
coast
with sporadic riding opportunities, finally
here in
California I "rediscovered" the bike
and have been
riding whenever possible."
His greatest cycling achievement? "I
completed 5 double centuries in 2007, plus
the very difficult "Climb to Kaiser".
I finished tied for 5th in
the 2007 Eastern Sierra Double. I try to bike
commute
to work every non-rain day between Cupertino
to Palo
Alto."
He continues, "I'm a software guy, and have
recently written a
program for the macintosh called "Ascent",
for
analyzing workouts and plotting activity GPS
data
against download maps. My "real" job,
however, is
managing the software team for Euphonix, a
small
company here in the valley that builds digital
audio
mixing consoles.
My goal is to just stay fit, have some endurance,
and try to keep up with the younger guys and
girls
during group rides." |
