Mary-Ellen is a Category 1 racer who joined LGBRC in 2006. Her emphasis is road racing. She says, "I was a music nerd in high school. And I loved attending music camp. In my last year at camp, I took the 'outdoor pursuits' elective which was just mountain biking everyday for 1-2 hrs. I loved it! I've been hooked ever since."

When asked what she considers her greatest cycling achievement, she replies, "Overcoming mental and physical obstacles by pushing them to extremes. I've been able to learn a lot about my character through racing." Her cycling goals? "One day I hope to make all my hard work worthwhile by obtaining some 'great' results."
