About
Kalen
Kalen is a Category 2 racer, specializing in road racing and time trial. He joined the LGBRC in 2002. How did he get started in racing? "It all started with an empty summer during high school. With a less-than-gentle push from the parents to get me out of the house, I bought a bike, signed up for a month-long touring trip in England and France and started riding. Best thing I've ever done. When I got back I started racing and have been hooked ever since."

His greatest cycling achievement?
"I distinctly remember getting the training wheels off...but perhaps winning my first pro race was the greatest high. "
Kalen's real job is working for Club One Professional Services managing the Wellness Department for Applied Materials. He coaches for Team in Training's Triathlon team, does some private cycling coaching, is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist. He loves to stay abreast of the latest in performance training. His hobbies include hiking, reading, pottery, cooking (mostly experimental) and exploring.
