Andrew
is a junior racer who joined LGBRC
in 2008. When asked what sparked his interest
in cycling, he replies, " My mom did
AIDS Lifecycle in 2007 and amazed me so
much, that I wanted to start riding bikes
to see how it felt like. When I first started
riding, I couldn't imagine my mom riding
over 500 miles on a bike! I did 20, and
I was exhausted. I persevered that I wouldn't
stop riding until, I was just as good as
my mom. One Day my mom took me to a bike
race, and I could almost feel all of the
adrenaline, and the excitement of the bicycle
racing. I started looking into all of the
bicycle races, and I tried a couple, and
now I'm just hooked on it! I'm always asking
my mom if we can go for a ride, or go to
this race or that race. I can't wait until
I'm older so I can go on my own to race!"
Besides riding, he likes to hang out with
friends, listen to music, and have fun.
He adds, "My goals for bicycling are
being able to do a century ride, when I'm
17 to do the AIDS Life Cycle, and to be
top 5 in the state."
