Brian McLean Brian joined LGBRC in 2007 as a Cat.
4 road racer.
When we asked him how he first became involved in cycling, he responded, "I always wanted a bike even when my parents couldn't afford to buy me one. When I did get one I rode it everywhere and love the freedom it offered. " He considers his greatest cycling achievement to date to have placed 3rd out of 155 riders in a 44 mile mountain bike race in Orange County, CA in very muddy conditions. He says, "I think my bike handling skills going downhill in the mud made up for my limited fitness but I'm not complaining; I passed 'several' people in the last 30 minutes of the race. " When he's not riding his bike? "I work in the semiconductor industry as a sales and marketing person. I like to travel and have been all over the world with my various jobs. During and after my college years I did white water kayaking and was ranked pretty high in slalom competition. Now, when I don't have a bike competition, I do gymnastics in Mountain View which leaves me in pain for at least 4 days but is fun." His goal? "I'd like to get to Cat 3" |
