I have been a cyclist for
two years now but an athlete all my life.
A competitor by nature, I know what it’s
like to suffer physically and mentally
pushing ourselves beyond our limits. This
is a required component when supporting
a teammate to a podium finish. Cycling is not only a physical commitment, but also a time commitment. I don’t intend to be a 20 race minimum member, but rather a 35-40 race average racer. For further team support & exposure, with my flexible schedule, I plan travel to most NCNCA races and also train heavily to target NRCs! I have been working with a trainer for the past year and recently acquired a coach for race strategy, riding technique & form. But there is only so much a trainer and coach can provide you. This in one of the reasons why I love being a part of LGBRC. When I first saw a move by a Racer in action to support her teammate, I was astonished. It’s the strategy, execution & teamwork that blew me away, not to mention the result. Not necessarily the podium finish, but the excitement amongst the Teammates of what they accomplished as a team. I have desired to be a part of “that”, the comradely, cohesiveness & also girlie fun for a long time. I raced solo this last year because of my training for RAAM. It would have not been fair to tie up a team spot when 5 months of this last race season, I could not commit to the team. I am a Cat 3 racer with the intention to upgrade to a Cat 2 during the first part of the 2012 season. However, my main goal is to learn team strategy, experience team execution, build lifelong teammate relationships and most importantly support my fellow teammates. I look forward to seeing you all out on the road! |
