Sumer is a category 3 racer on road, cyclocross and mountain bikes. She is a triathlete and a crit racer.

When asked how she got into cycling, she responded, " After spending a few years competing in triathlons, including the Coeur d'Alene Ironman, I decided that the bike was my favorite of the three sports and it was time to race my bike."

We asked her what she considers her greatest cycling achievement, an she responded, "My greatest cycling accomplishments are from my time spent in the dirt. After a crash near the finish, I ended up 2nd at the 2014 Sea Otter XC Mountain Bike Race in my debut as a mountain biker.  In 2013 I was awarded the Women's Development Award for recruiting and promoting women's cycling at the Homegrown Cycling Series.

Her other interests? "I am blessed with a fulfilling and busy life off the bike.  My greatest joy comes from spending time with my beautiful 7-year old daughter, Addyson.  During the day, I serve as the Campus Director for San Joaquin Valley College, a private junior college.  I am in the final stages of a doctoral program in Organizational Leadership and squeeze in reading, writing, and research."
She adds, "Empowering others to pursue their dreams and more is my personal goal.  I love watching individuals fall in love with cycling, test their limits, and achieve never seen before results.  There is nothing greater than witnessing the smile of another when they realize that anything is possible.  I am honored to be a member of LGBRC and look forward to all that 2015 brings."
